In conjunction with the start of a new semester, Gee Library would like
to invite the campus community to "Bois d'Arc @ Gee Library," a
presentation to be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2009, at 3 PM in the
first floor meeting area of the library. The speaker will be Fred
Tarpley, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Literature and
Languages and author of Wood Eternal: The Story of Osage Orange, Bois
d'Arc, etc. Dr. Tarpley's topic will be "How Bois d'Arc Affects the
Life of Commerce: Bois d'Arc Capital of Texas."

Throughout the month of January the "Wood Eternal" Exhibit will be shown
in the second floor display case of the library. The exhibit consists of
beautiful hand-crafted items by the Bois d'Arc Capital Crafters,
including Jim Conrad, Jay and Kent Garrett, Art Hendrix, Jerry Lytle,
and Fred Tarpley.

Please come to Gee Library and learn about the wood behind the Bash. For
more information contact Scott Lancaster at extension 5728.
