Have you ever wondered how students from some universities manage to study and live in Europe for a whole semester? Have you ever wished that it could be your turn to try something that nobody in your family or circle of friends has done before? If you answered yes to these questions then come learn about A&M-Commerce's new university home in Europe, The Abbey Program, and find out how you can call this 1000 year-old campus your home for Spring 2011.

The Abbey is perfect for juniors and seniors majoring in the fine arts or social sciences. It's also perfect if you have any general education credits left to fulfill in History, English, Art History or Econ, all of which are taught in English. Finally, the Abbey is perfect for you if you've always wanted to learn French but haven't ever had a real reason to take the plunge.

50 U.S. university students will go to The Abbey this February. If you join with this group of freshmen – seniors, you will live and learn in a tiny French village where your lunch will be eaten every day in a local cafe full of regulars from town. You will study with top professors in English and learn French by falling in love with France. You will see castles, the great mountains of the Alps, the azure blue of the Mediterranean sea and the bloodied sands of Omaha Beach. You will also take an entire week living and learning in the heart of Paris, before you and your new friends head out to see Europe together on a 2 week spring break trip called "Vision Quest."

How do you learn more about The Abbey and become one of the 50 students for Abbey 2011? Visit www.theabbeyprogram.org as soon as you can, then join the Director of The Abbey, Dr. Doug Mackaman, and A&M-Commerce Professor of French and Philosophy, Dr. Philippe Seminet, for one of the Q&A seminars on The Abbey this Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6:00 PM in Ferguson Social Sciences Building, rm. 304.

Finally, how will you and the other Abbey students pay for the program? You will learn that the cost of the program is about the same as what staying back in Texas will cost you, except for the extra money needed for your plane ticket, weekend trips and Vision Quest. You will also learn that financial aid, including scholarships, covers many if not all of your total program costs.

So what is The Abbey and what will it mean for you to study there? In a nutshell: The Abbey is your platform to see all of Europe as you discover what's most elemental about yourself. The Abbey: your tuition won't change much but you most certainly will.

See you Wednesday!
