TriBeta, the Biological Honors Society, is partnering with a
representative from Communities in Schools here in the
Commerce area for a food drive. Donations will be collected
in the JAMP room in the science building room 110. This food
drive is about collecting non-perishable items as well as
cash; the cash is so we can buy frozen turkeys for the
families in Commerce. There are several food drives on
campus already and we know not everyone can give to every
organization, but the cash is a different way to give to the
needy families in the community.
As incentive for donating to this cause, we have professors
willing to give 5 points for 5 canned goods or $5. These
points will be applied as they see fit. The two professors
confirmed are Dr. Hanna and Dr. Kopachena, while other
professors are still in the process of deciding.
Tri Beta officers will be taking and recording the donations
from Monday November 15th to Friday November 19th from 9am
to 4:30pm.
