Information for international students:

International students may be eligible for the internship program
through Curricular Practical Training (CPT) employment but you must have
authorization from the International Student Services office (ISSO) on
the last page of your I-20 before employment may begin. Below is a
brief summary of the eligibility requirements for CPT.

Please visit our website at
http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/cpt.asp
<https://outlook.tamu-commerce.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.
tamu-commerce.edu/international/cpt.asp> for the complete eligibility
requirements and the application process. Be sure to read the
information on the above websites thoroughly before contacting the CBT
or the ISSO.

If you do not have the required skill set or do not have experience for
the positions listed above and meet all CBT requirements for the program
or do not meet the CPT requirements listed below then you will not be
eligible for the Internship Program in the CBT.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) allows students in research and
internship courses to gain paid work experience outside the classroom.
To be eligible for CPT, you must have been in full-time F-1 student
status at TAMU-Commerce for at least one academic year (enrolled Fall
term + Spring term, any order) prior to the CPT period. In addition, to
be eligible for CPT:

* Authorization must be granted by an International Student
Advisor prior to starting employment.

* Do not begin employment until you have been authorized by an
International Student Advisor.

* CPT employment is authorized on the 3rd page of the I-20. You
are only allowed to work at the company listed on this page and for the
dates listed on this page.

* Because CPT employment is directly connected to a specific
course, you must be enrolled in the course and can receive course credit
from your employment, employment must terminate when the course ends at
the end of the semester.

* You cannot hold both a CPT position and a graduate
assistantship.

* CPT cannot be extended into a non-registered semester.

* The dates on the letter from your instructor, the job offer
letter, and for the academic course must be the same.

If you are interested in one of these positions and meet the above
requirements, please contact Jerry Jurden at: jerryj at trendhr.com

Thank you!
