[Students] 15th Annual Multicultural Festival on April 10

The 15th Annual Multicultural Festival will be held on Friday, April 10,
2009 in the New Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center (SRC). Currently,
Texas A&M University-Commerce enrolls approximately 411 international
students representing 50 countries. The Festival is co-sponsored by the
International Student Services Office and the Association of
International Students (AIS) to provide the opportunity for all students
to represent and showcase their countries and cultures with a flag
parade, exotic food tasting, arts, crafts, displays, and talent and
fashion shows.

 

Schedule

11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.                     Flag Parade around campus
(weather permitting) starting at the New Sam Rayburn Memorial Student
Center (SRC)

11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.                       Activities from the 2nd Floor
of the SRC 

-       Cultural food sampling

-       Information and display tables

-       Talent Show

-       Fashion Show

 

 

The Flag Parade will start at 11:00 from the SRC and proceed around
campus returning to the 2nd floor of the SRC at 11:30. The rest of the
day's activities will proceed until approximately 2:00 p.m. on the 2nd
floor of the SRC.

 

We will be taking donations for the Association of International
Students organization (AIS) instead of event ticket sales at this year's
Multicultural Festival. Your donations will be used for AIS events and
programming to help international students adjust to life in the U.S.
and at Texas A&M University-Commerce, as well as promote cultural
awareness and exchange among students, faculty, staff, and community.
