[Students] Texas A&M-Commerce Tailgate Party-September 20, 2008

[Jane Martyn]

The excitement of football will be in the air as Texas A&M
University-Commerce alumni, students and friends build spirit for the
Lion's team as they meet at the tailgate party of the season on
Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008.

The fun begins at 4 p.m. on the West Lawn of the Sam Rayburn Memorial
Student Center before the Lions kick off their home opener with Eastern
New Mexico State at 7 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.

Campus Dining will offer fried chicken and sides for $7.50 to be served
on the West Lawn under the blue and gold tent. Students will be served
their dining plan meal on the lawn. Campus Dining will accept meal
plans, cash and Lion cash. Join the cheerleaders and the Pride Marching
Band Drum Line at 5 p.m. to cheer on the football team as they walk to
the stadium.

Breakout Entertainment will be providing "The Gyroscope" - a highly
interactive multi-axis spinning experience. The stage will be set up
for The Blandelles performing from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Due to overwhelming participation in the spirit contest, the Tailgate
Committee has voted to award an additional 3rd place prize. First place
will receive $200, second place will receive $125 and third place will
receive $75. The prizes this week are sponsored by the Office of
Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations.

Congratulations to The Caribbean Student's Association and to Phi Theta
Kappa for showing their winning spirit both at Tailgate and during the
game on September 6.

Departments wishing to pick up Tailgate meal tickets to give out to
alumni or special guests will need to contact Deanna Holcomb in
Financial Services at ext. 5054. Tickets are $7.50 each.

Tailgate parties will be held three hours before every home football
game. Come join us for Homecoming, November 1 and also November 8 for
Veteran's Vigil. Also, mark your calendar for the October 18th game at
2:00 p.m. at the Cotton Bowl. Tickets and information are available
through the Athletic Department's website.
