After recording 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists and six steals in the Texas A&M University-Commerce women's basketball season opener against Southern Arkansas, all-American candidate Britney Jordan was named Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Week, league officials announced.

Jordan, who earned the award for the fifth time of her career, helped the Lions pick up their fifth straight season opening victory with an 88-57 victory over the Lady Muleriders on Saturday.

The Peoria, Ill., native scored 23 points in the first half to help extend the Lions' lead to 30 at the break. She connected on 11-of-16 shots from the field, drained five 3-pointers and went 3-of-4 from the free throw line.

Jordan and the Lions return to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Incarnate Word at the A&M-Commerce Field House.
