The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's basketball team will be looking to extend their winning streak to a season-high four games when they meet the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars on Tuesday (Dec. 30) at 7 p.m. in the A&M-Commerce Field House.

A&M-Commerce is currently 6-2 for the season and has reeled off three straight victories, while the Cougars are 1-13 and in the midst of a 13 game losing streak.

SIU-Edwardsville opened the season with an 89-47 home victory over Illinois-Springfield on Nov. 15, but hit the road for 11 of its next 13 games, going winless. Tuesday’s matchup with A&M-Commerce will mark the Cougars’ sixth straight road game.

Meanwhile, the Lions have picked up victories in three straight and are currently on a 10-game winning streak at the A&M-Commerce Field House dating back to last season. Over the past four years, the Lions have posted a 44-2 record at home.

A&M-Commerce features three players in double digit scoring this season, including senior Britney Jordan, who leads the nation with 30.8 points per game (as of Dec. 14). Jordan is helping the Lions average 82.5 ppg, while the Cougars are putting up just 59.6.

Jenny Wuest’s 12.9 ppg leads SIU-Edwardsville, which is in the first season of a four year NCAA Division I reclassification process.
