COMMERCE BIG EVENT

Saturday, April 5th

Don't forget that the Commerce Big Event will be taking place on
Saturday, April 5th with projects all over the community. Everybody is
encouraged to come out and help with a project so we can make Commerce a
more attractive place to live, play and work. The days events will end
with a stew luncheon at the City Park for everybody that participated in
a clean up project.

Also, there are "free" services being offered during the Big Event to
help you with your own cleaning projects. Come take advantage of these
services:

* Recycling bins for paper and metal items (plastic cannot be
accepted). Location: Farmers Market. Time: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

* Document shredding - all documents will be shredded on site.
Bound materials may not be accepted. Location: Farmers Market. Time:
8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

* Hazardous materials collection. The Hunt County Environmental
Services will be at the County Barn on North Bois d'Arc Street
collecting hazardous materials such as paint, hazardous chemicals,
batteries, car tires (not truck), and other items with the exception of
roofing materials. Time: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Another new and free event being offered during the Big Event is a
Spring Gardening Clinic. It will be held at 10 a.m. at Huffman's Feed
Store by the Greenhouse on Bonham Street Alley. The guest speakers are
Texas Master Gardeners Lamont Cunningham and Jane Langford. Mr.
Lamont's topic will be "Basic Landscape Design Principles," and Mrs.
Langford's topic will be "Spiffing Up an Existing Landscape."

We are also proud that several new clean up projects have been added to
this year's list of activities. One such project is the cleaning up at
the Ivory Moore Park. Several students from the athletics department
and the Golden Leos have taken on this project.

Thanks,
