Test Dates for Tornado Warning System Set

The City of Commerce and Texas A&M University-Commerce announced plans to
test the recently installed tornado warning system. Testing will be held
Feb. 19-21, 2007:

*	Monday Feb. 19 -- testing will consist of multiple short blasts from
the sirens. These blasts will generally be five seconds or less in
duration.
*	Wednesday Feb. 21 -- all sirens will be activated for five minutes
beginning at 10:00 a.m. (in the case of threatening weather the live audio
test will be postponed to a future date).

The integrated Tornado Warning System consists of four high-powered sirens
strategically located throughout the City and University. In addition, the
warning system can be activated from the University Police Department or the
Commerce Police Department.
