[Greg Mitchell]

Meet the Man Who Broadcast the News of President Kennedy's Assassination

Reception at Gee Library

Dallas television news pioneer Eddie Barker, along with Texas A&M -
Commerce's own Dr. John Mark Dempsey, have co-authored Eddie Barker's
Notebook: Stories That Made the News (and Some Better Ones That Didn't!).
Eddie Barker was a reporter and anchorman for many years in Dallas, and he
interviewed some interesting and famous people during his career, from
politicians to movie celebrities. Walter Cronkite, another colleague and
friend, wrote the foreword for the book. Eddie Barker will be speaking at
the Gee Library, and we will show some of the news footage that he
broadcast. Both authors will be available for a book signing afterwards.
