North Texas Backyard Brawl 2006

The North Texas Backyard Brawl is a rivalry against the intramural champions
of UT-Dallas and Texas A&M-Commerce. The champions compete against each
other in three intramural sports: flag football, basketball and softball.
The two schools alternate between campuses to play. Three games are played
and the winner of the series is awarded the Backyard Brawl Trophy. The event
started this semester with basketball. Commerce lost 2 of 3 games to the
UT-Dallas champions and now it is time for some payback.

The softball series will be played at Cain Sports Complex Wednesday, May 3rd
(tomorrow). The co-rec champions will play at 7:30 and the men's champions
(UT-Dallas A and B champions vs. Commerce Greek and Indy Men's champions)
will be played at 8:30. The co-rec champion Slammers defeated the Warriors
for this honor. KA 1 and the Irrationals will be playing against the A and B
division champions. KA 1 defeated the Irrationals 16-13 for the All-Campus
Men's Champion. UT-Dallas does not have a women's softball division, but
Endure the Heat (BSM Women) defeated Alpha Phi for the women's championship.

The event is free and should be very entertaining. Come out and support the
teams of Texas A&M-Commerce as we take on our intramural sports rival.
