As part of our celebration of National Library Week, Gee
Library invites you to a presentation by Richard Reynolds on
Monday, April 3 at 10 AM. See how much Texas has changed
over the past century and a half as Reynolds discusses his
latest book, Texas Then and Now: Text and Contemporary
Rephotography-featuring decades-old photographs in
juxtaposition with contemporary images viewed from the same
vantage point, including a visual presentation followed by a
book signing.
Reynolds is a landscape photographer with over 25 Texas
Highways covers and numerous published books as well as
images in thousands of newspapers, magazines, and calendars,
including the April 1996 cover of Texas Monthly. An alumnus
of the Brooks Institute of Photography, he has worked as a
photographer for more than 35 years, including service from
1983 to 1990 as the Chief Photographer for the State of
Texas tourism office, and has taught photography at the
University of Texas at Austin. See an online gallery of his
work at www.richardreynoldsphotography.com.
