[Students] Pride Scholarship

Greetings from Texas A&M University-Commerce.  

I am pleased to announce a new scholarship opportunity beginning in the fall
2006 semester!  The Pride Scholarship is a need-based scholarship valued at
up to $2,500 per year for undergraduate students.  This scholarship requires
submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA -
<http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/> www.fafsa.ed.gov), the Pride Scholarship
Application, and admission to Texas A&M University-Commerce.  If you have
not yet applied for admission to A&M-Commerce, you can do so by applying
on-line at  <http://www.applytexas.org/> www.applytexas.org.  

Below is information concerning the Pride Scholarship, along with a link to
the application.  There is a deadline of June 30, 2006 and funding is
limited, so I encourage you to complete the application and submit it today!

Texas A&M University-Commerce Pride Scholarship

 

$2,500 Maximum Scholarship Award

 

The Texas A&M University-Commerce Pride Scholarship is a need-based
scholarship applied toward tuition and fees.  Students must meet the
following criteria to be eligible:

 

*      Must be a Texas Resident

*      Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

*      Must enroll in a minimum of 15 undergraduate hours each semester at 

Texas A&M University-Commerce 

*      Must meet one of the criteria below at the time the scholarship
application is submitted:

 


I.                   High School Graduate 


 

*   Score a minimum of a 20 on the ACT or 

*   Score a minimum of a 920 on the Critical Reading and Math subsections
of the SAT and

*   Admitted to the University by June 30, 2006

 

II.                Transfer Student (21 or more semester credit hours
earned) 

 

*      Cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and

*      Admitted to the University by June 30, 2006

 

III.             Currently Enrolled Texas A&M University-Commerce Student

 

*      Cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and

*      Completed a minimum 21 semester hours
