and lights. Many Indian students have been practicing night and day and
into the wee hours to produce this elaborate production. It promises to
make a wonderful memory for whomever attends. Please show your support and
enjoy this wonderful event. This Saturday night, October 29, American
Ballroom in the MSC at 7:00 p.m.-9:30ish.

It's Free to everyone!

Mayur, the Indian Student Association, proudly announces the first Diwali
Night celebration on the A&M-Commerce campus.

Diwali is one of the most important celebrations in India and derives its
name from the words "deepavali," meaning light, and "avali," meaning a row,
or row of lights. Diyas are small earthen lamps that welcome the goddess of
wealth and prosperity into people's homes.

Diwali Night will consist of on-stage entertainment with traditional and
non-traditional songs and dances, a comedy skit, and a fashion show with
Indian students wearing their native dress from various states in India.
Traditional sweets will be served during a brief intermission.

This event is free to everyone, and families are especially invited to
attend. Please visit our website below to SEE and HEAR our Diwali
announcement! There are 187 Indian students on our campus, almost all of
whom are graduate students. They have put tremendous effort and resources
into this activity so please do come to show your support! American
Ballroom 7:00 to 9:30 ish p.m.

If you have questions please contact me in the library.
