To the members of the A&M-Commerce community:

On Wednesday, October 19, 2005, Whitley Hall in association with Pi Sigma
Alpha (The National Political Science Honor Society) will be hosting the
seminar "Conflict in Sudan...Genocide in the Making?" The program promises
to be a very informative one, and will present information regarding what
issues need to be present to label an event as GENOCIDE. The on going
conflict in Sudan will also be discussed in detail. We encourage each of
you to attend. Knowledge is the key to letting people become aware of the
many atrocities against the poor and brutalized in our world.

The international community sat by and watched the Rwandan genocide unfold
in 1994. Over 800,000 people were killed. The question we need to examine
is how long will the international community stand by and let the people of
Darfur suffer? Already in Darfur the number of dead has surpassed 70,000.

Your attendance at the seminar will help you to play a part in knowing
first-hand the violence taking place in Darfur and what world leaders are
doing, or not doing, to solve the problem.

We look forward to seeing you at the program. The program date is Wednesday,
October 19, at 6:00 PM in the Whitley Hall Lobby.

Sincerely,

Dimitri Lyon and Jetmir Bakija
Resident Assistants
Whitley Hall
