Subject: Crime Victim's Candlelight Vigil
Christmas is a time for joy and happiness for most families. It means a
little of something else to families who tragically lost a loved one due to
a senseless act of violence.
On December 1, 2005 at 6:15 p.m., the City of Commerce is offering people
from Commerce and the surrounding areas the opportunity to unite together
for a moment of silence and remembrance by holding a candlelight vigil for
victims of violent crimes in conjunction with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and
the Christmas Parade.
If you knew a person who died because of a senseless act of violence or just
want to show your support for families and friends, you are invited to
attend this candlelight vigil.
Photos of the victims will be on display. To submit a picture of your loved
one, mail a copy of the picture to: City of Commerce, Attn: Candlelight
Vigil, 1106 Main, Commerce, Texas 75428 or email it to cjvaughan at koyote.com
<mailto:cjvaughan at koyote.com> or jputman at koyote.com
<mailto:jputman at koyote.com>
A limited number of candles will be available but participants may want to
bring their own candles to light.
For more information contact Cindy Vaughan at 903/886-1132 or Jeanie Putman
at 903/886-1126.
