I'd like to echo these thanks; physics day was a great success, thanks to all your hard work. I'd like to thank Bernadette for all her hard work organizing the demos - they were a great hit! And thanks to our panelists Chris, Sarah, Darius and Sammy for a great discussion session. We gave a great account of ourselves to the students and teachers.

I would like to give a big thank you to our few members who volunteered for our universities' Physics Day! I know that both the teachers and students had a wonderful time and were all encouraged into the wonderful field of physics. Encouraging future scientists is one of the most rewarding and essential parts of the Society of Physics Students. It is for this reason I was slightly disappointing in the lack of participation for Physics Day. I think we can all acknowledge that we are busy students, but these type of recruitment and outreach programs are why we exist as an organization. I would really like all of our members to have a sense of connection and ownership when it comes to physics, and enjoy showing others why physics is such an amazing and core part of the sciences. As a biology major, I cannot offer incoming recruits as much specific advice or share as many experiences as most of you can. I have noticed participation in meetings has also been extremely low, especially considering the prestigious and wonderful guest speakers we have had. I hope you can find it in yourselves to realize why physics is important to you and rediscover why you set out on this path to become a physicist.
Thank you,
Bernadette Johnson
