<div>June 19, Day 7</div>  <div>&nbsp;</div>  <div>Today I ran TLC plates.&nbsp; Many TLC plates on the product that I synthesized from the previous day.&nbsp; I tried to find a solvent that separated the starting molecule from the newly formed product and checked to see if the product was pure.&nbsp;&nbsp;Some of the plates wouldnt show, so I had to dip them in potassium permanganate and heat them to get the spots to appear. &nbsp;I finally found a good solvent, and it was 9:1 Dichloromethane/Methanol.&nbsp; I also gave my first presentation today.</div>
