<div>June 12, Day 2</div>  <div>&nbsp;</div>  <div>This morning, I continued to help with the TLC plates from the fractions we collected yesterday.&nbsp; In the afternoon, I helped Johnathan set up and run his reaction to make tetraphenyl porphryn.&nbsp; The reaction heated very slowly, but by 4:30 we had finished.&nbsp; Then we set it in an ice bath to let it cool.&nbsp; After crystallization and some problems, we finally moved to filtration by a glass-sintered funnel.&nbsp; We finally finished cleaning up and filtration by&nbsp;about 8:45.</div>
