This morning, Dr. Whaley and I worked on modifying the assembly I created yesterday. The latex tubing and the T-connectors didn’t work really well; thus, kept on leaking every time we turned on the water. I had to clean up the access grease from the joints in order to prevent contamination of the samples. I measured 70.00 g of Osage orange pulp and grinded it into fine powder. Then, I divided the powder into six 10.00g samples, which were poured into cellulose extraction thimbles and located into six Soxhlet extractors. In addition, I added 200ml of haxenes into the six 250ml bottom round flasks. At the end, we couldn’t run the experiment, because we needed to purchase the appropriate size T-connectors. For the rest of the day, I read literature that was related to my proposal.

<br
