Today I checked my specimens under the wide-field fluorescent microscope.  
While I am getting transfections, for some reason I don't understand, 
however, the fluorescence was not as bright as it usually is.

I spent the majority of the day constructing a perfusion system consisting 
of a ring stand, stop cock, various sizes of tubing, connectors, needles, a 
perfusion box, and a pump (which I had to switch out with a vacuum pump 
since the first pump was not powerful enough).  Tomorrow I hope to be able 
to set the system up downstairs in the confocal microscope room for use 
during imaging (to apply stimuli).
