Today I checked my transfections under the wide-field fluorescent microscope 
and was very happy to see that had 2 very good specimens.  I also ran 
another gel electrophoresis on my DNA to double-check some unusual results.  
I also started another GCAMP/Kanamycin culture (double this time) so I can 
do another DNA prep.

I collected some calcium ion concentration data on one of my specimens with 
the confocal microscope, using the Fluoview program.  Unfortunately, when I 
returned from dinner to collect some more data, both of the specimens had 
died (which was quite surprising).  I therefore did some more injections and 
electroporations so that I can have some specimens to image tomorrow.
