Hello everyone!

I hope you have had a somewhat relaxing summer and are not too sad that classes are starting again soon.

I would like to have 3 or 4 volunteers from you to participate in a grad student GA training session on Wednesday, August 19 from 2-5pm in room 107 of the science building. You will be paid in pizza afterwards.

The faculty and new GATs will be modeling an actual physics lab and a board-work question from a studio-mode class. I need you to play the role of a typical student in each of these two situations. I DON'T want you to act silly, but I do want you to act
clueless at times. For example, the lab will be to measure the density of some materials, so making a mistake in the methodology and making mistakes in the math (like not knowing how to do a cube on a calculator when calculating volume) are sorts of things
I would like to see. Similar in the board work (and if you have been an LA and so know common mistakes students make, all the better!).

If you are willing to volunteer, please let me know!

Thanks,

Dr. Williams
