Dear physics colleagues and SPS advisers,
The Physics Department at Cleveland State University (CSU) is running an interdisciplinary REU site "Synthesis, Assembly, and Characterization of Soft Matter". In addition to many physics' faculty, it involves faculty from CSU's Chemical and Biomedical Engineering department and a faculty from CSU's Mathematics and Statistics department. This year we also have two collaborative projects with Case Western Reserve University's departments of Macromolecular Science and Engineering, and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

We are currently recruiting for the summer 2026 (priority application deadline is February 16). The tentative dates of our 10-week program are May 18th, 2026 - July 24th, 2026.
I was hoping you could spread a word about our program among your students. The flyer for the Soft Matter REU program at CSU is attached.
please let me know if you have any questions,
thank you very much,
kiril
ps Historically, the majority of our REU students are physics majors; many are chemical and biomedical engineering majors. We also had several material science and chemistry majors. At least 69% of our REU alumni (2017-2024) have continued into grad schools (at least 26% into PhD programs).
