[phas-undergrad] Sunday night update on weather, safety, and classes

[Kurtis Williams]

Good evening everyone,

I hope you are all staying warm and safe through this storm. The good news is that the ice/snow/sleet portion of the storm is over, but bitter cold weather will remain for the next few days. This also means that the roads will definitely stay dangerous through Monday and into Tuesday.

If you are in need of a warm place to stay, food, or medical care, *please* contact the office of Student Advocacy and Support: https://www.etamu.edu/student-advocacy-support/ If you are in need of immediate aid, call campus police at 903.886.5868. If you are in a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Campus is closed on Monday due mainly to the dangerous ice. The science building is closed. Please do not attempt to enter the science building; if the police find you they will force you to leave.

All face-to-face classes are changed to online classes for the duration of the campus closure. If you are a student in a Monday class, your instructor should give you some sort of assignment for the day on D2L and/or through email. If you do not see an assignment, be sure to ask them.

Finally, it is looking possible that the university closure might last for part if not all of Tuesday. That decision has not been made. If campus is again closed on Tuesday, then the stuff I mentioned above will also apply to Tuesday classes.

Thanks for your patience with the weather, and please do not hesitate to ask for help if you need it!

Cheers,

Dr. Williams
