Hi everyone,

If you are planning on graduating in 2026, be it spring, summer, or fall, here is some important info. You will receive some of this from the university as well, but that email is easily overlooked.

  1. If you are planning to graduate in any semester this year, please email me to let me know as soon as possible (like, now. Just hit reply and say, "I'm planning to graduate in spring."). This lets me check to make sure you are on track to graduate, and it also allows us to give you a gift recognizing your efforts in the department.
  2. If you are planning to graduate in Spring 2026, you MUST fill out a graduation application through your MyLeo portal. The deadline is March 13, but why not do that now, too? Go to the MyLeo portal, click on the APPS tab, and look for the graduation application button. You need to do this whether or not you walk in the graduation ceremony in May.
  3. If you are planning to graduate in summer or fall, wait to fill out the graduation application until the start of Summer I or the start of Fall.
  4. Spring graduation ceremonies will be held on Saturday May 9; the exact time for the College of Science and Engineering graduation is yet to be announced. Shortly after the ceremony, we will have a light reception for our graduates and their friends and families in the lobby of the science building. More info late in the semester!

Finally, if you know someone who is a physics 2nd major or a physics major who does not read their email, please pass this information along to them.

Cheers,
Dr. Williams
