Good afternoon everyone,
Course schedules for Summer I, Summer II, and Fall 2025 semesters have been posted! You can see them online at:
https://appsprod.tamuc.edu/Schedule/Schedule.aspx?Term=202580&Dept=PHAS
This link defaults to the Fall 2025 schedule, you can choose Summer I and Summer II from the pull down menu; note these pages take a ridiculous amount of time to load.
If you want/need to take Phys 2425 or Phys 2426 over the summer, we are offering these as 10-week online classes this year (i.e., lasting both Summer I and Summer II). This will help to make the workload in these crucial classes more manageable. I would encourage all of you to take the classes face-to-face in the fall or spring, but if you need one of the courses to get on track they are available.
2nd Bachelors and Seniors can register for classes starting Wednesday, Juniors starting Monday, and Sophomores and Freshmen starting next Wednesday.
Although each of these semesters seems a long way off, and though physics classes almost certainly will not fill to capacity, the sooner you can register for classes, the better we can ensure that each class will have enough students to move forward and actually happen. Even if you register now, you do not owe any money until the semester begins, and you can add, delete, and change course sections up until the start of the semester AT NO COST. You could complete change your schedule every day, though I wouldn't suggest it, and not owe a penny more in fees.
Starting next week (March 24+), I will have special office hours especially for you to come by and talk to me about courses for fall and/or summer. It is good for you to talk with me, because (a) I am your departmental advisor, (b) I know what courses are coming when and so I can make sure you stay on track to graduate, and (c) I can learn if there are any problems with the schedule as posted and see if corrections are possible.
So, please, look over the schedule, come talk to me next week (or any time the rest of this semester) about these semesters!
And remember, always be awesome toward each other.
Cheers,
Dr. Williams
