Semiconductors

Semiconductor Engineering in Texas
Andy Beers

Semiconductor division training instructor in TEEX

The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is an internationally recognized leader in emergency response training, workforce training and technical assistance. For more than a decade, many of the largest semiconductor manufacturers in the world, including Texas Instruments and Samsung, have relied on courses that keep pace with specific workforce training needs. TEEX provides the essential training courses for the semiconductor industry in Texas.

Abstract

We will review both the history of Semiconductor Engineering training and current demand to support the existing industry wafer fab / manufacturing equipment suppliers and upcoming wafer fab engineering labor demand types and locations in the USA and Texas. Additionally, we will discuss the history and current offerings, experience and demand which TEEX (Texas A&M Extension Service) is providing in the marketplace. We hope this will lead to a fruitful transfer of information and discussion of the current A&M Commerce possibilities creating demand for TEEX capabilities and future needs and collaboration opportunities between A&M Commerce and TEEX to meet the current and future skilled engineering labor market demand.
