In an effort to recruit students, we are sending you this email with NSF-REU Flyer.  We ran REU program last year successfully and hopefully will be able to run REU in 2022. We request you to forward this to your undergraduate students.
GRADUATE PROGRAM:
Physics Department at University of Arkansas, offers strong programs in condensed matter/nano physics, computational physics, photonics, laser, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, astronomy, and biophysics.  The Department has made great strides in hiring highly qualifies new faculty.

All the students admitted in our department are supported as TA or RA. We have many openings for TA/RA position for fall 22. Deadline for the application is Jan 15, 2022, however, department will extend the deadline to Feb 15.

NSF-REU IN PHYSICS

Physics Department at University of Arkansas will host NSF-funded REU program during summer 2022.  We are hopeful that Covid will be under control by end of Spring Semester. REU fellowship includes  $5000 stipend, room and board, fieldtrip and travel. Physics Majors or those in fields related to Biophysics, Lasers & Optics, and Materials Science are eligible to apply. We will appreciate if you can encourage prospective undergraduate students to apply for the REU program. Students from small colleges and groups that are underrepresented in science and engineering, including women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
