Hi all students in Physics and Astronomy,

I am the instructor of PHYS-319 (Computational Physics).

The department approved that the course requirement of PHYS-319 will be changed from Spring 2024 (not effective in Spring 2023). It will require an intro Python course from Spring 2024.

Intro to Python for Phys Sci - 87818 - PHYS 489 - 01E

If you plan to take the course in Spring 2023 and have no programming experience, I strongly encourage you to take the intro Python course this semester, Fall 2022.
The course is open now.

Again, the pre-requisite of PHYS-319 is not required in Spring 2023, but will be required from Spring 2024.

The university does not allow Pass/Fail grade for the intro Python course, so it will be a graded course. But it will be an easy course for Python experience.
70% attendance and 70% HW completion will be required for an "A" grade.

The intro Python course will be a fun, easy, and nearly stress-free programming course with one-to-one guidance by me.
It can be a face-to-face course at 5:00 PM in room 210, or fully online by D2L or Zoom.

Please email me if you have any questions.
