for Summer 2021!
Are you a community college or undergraduate student curious about what scientific research is like? In our 10-week summer research internship program, you conduct your own unique research study!

What is an REU all about?

In a Research Experiences for Undergraduates program you are a member of a cohort of undergraduate students from across the U.S., learning and reflecting together through skill-building workshops, career exploration tours and field trips, science seminars, and a variety of social activities. You are paired with a mentor or mentor team that helps you conduct your own unique research study.

We support you! You receive the following:

  *   Stipend of $6,000
  *   Subsistence of $600 to help with food costs
  *   Travel to/from Norman (up to $600) and travel to a National Conference (up to $1,500)
  *   Housing in on-campus apartments

Summer 2021 Possibilities:
1) Fund a few students via other grants
2) Hold a full program with new funding (we hope to know by mid-winter)
In either case, we are prepared to run our program completely online or in a hybrid format, depending on how the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. We intend to retain a hybrid option going forward to enable students who cannot or do not wish to relocate for the summer to participate.

Research +
During the 2020 REU program, we were able to put together virtual tours and seminars that gave us the opportunity to talk to even more people across various organizations! We look forward to continuing this aspect in future programs.
