Hi physics majors,
This is a reminder that we are currently accepting applications to become a learning assistant (LA) in Spring 2019. The deadline is this Friday, 11/9. LAs are undergraduate students who help to teach PHYS 2425 and 2426 University Physics I and II. Being an LA is a great way to learn the course material better and gain teaching experience. LA's responsibilities are to facilitate group work in class, attend weekly prep sessions, and tutor (1-2 hours). LA's also enroll in PHYS 371 Science and Math Education Theory and Practice, a one credit hour seminar course. LAs may enroll in 1 of 2 sections of this course. One is offered Tuesdays 2:00-2:50, and the other is offered Wednesday 9:00-9:50. LAs are paid hourly.
The classes we need help in are:
PHYS 2425 University Physics I
MWF 10:00-11:50
MWF 12:00-1:50
MWF 2:00-3:50
and
PHYS 2426 University Physics II
MWF 12:00-1:50
MWF 2:00-3:50
If you are interested in becoming an LA or would like more information, contact me (robynne.lock at tamuc.edu<mailto:robynne.lock at tamuc.edu>). Applications are available on the fridge in the physics lounge. Applications are due Friday, 11/9
