[phas-grad] Artemis II Launch "Party" in Planetarium starting at 5pm.

[Kurtis Williams]

Hi everyone,

Today is the scheduled launch of Artemis II, which will carry 4 astronauts on a free-return trajectory around the Moon. This marks the first times humans will have gone to the Moon since 1972 (though they aren't landing - think Apollo 8 or Apollo 13 but hopefully without the emergency).

Provided that the launched is not postponed prior to then, we will be streaming the launch on the Planetarium screen starting at 5pm; scheduled launch is 5:24pm with a two hour launch window. All physics-related people are welcome to join us, no cost. The stream will end roughly 10 minutes after launch when the astronauts reach orbit, or when the launch is officially postponed.

As a reminder: no food, drink, gum, smoking, vaping, etc. is allowed inside the planetarium. The doors will remain open so that you can come and go as you wish.

Cheers,
Kurtis
