[phas-grad] [phas-dept] Campus CLOSING at 1 today, no Admitted Students Day tomorrow.

Hi Folks,

Due to the risk of severe weather this afternoon and into tomorrow, campus is more or less closing at 1pm except for essential employees.  While all of you are essential to our department's success in multiple ways, none of you are essential to the point of risking your lives, so:

  *   All afternoon classes are cancelled
  *   All students should plan on leaving the building by 1pm; even if you are on my magic list of people allowed in the building after hours, that permission does not include during hazardous weather,
  *   All faculty and staff in physics & astronomy have permission to leave. (Planetarium staff - Dr. Davis / Mr. Allemang will let you know about tonight.)
  *   Any lab experiments should be brought to a safe standstill at least until Sunday.
  *   ADMITTED STUDENTS DAY (tomorrow) is cancelled.  I do not know about other campus events.  However, if SPS has/had anything planned, I would suggest cancelling it.

Stay dry and safe.  Through the night make sure you have access to weather alerts in case of tornadoes; they are more likely as the night goes on.  I will see you Monday.
