Dear all in Physics and Astronomy,

PHYS-401/501 students must complete an assignment (submitting a summary report) on D2L when there is no in-person meeting on a week.

Time, Einstein, and the Coolest Stuff in the Universe

- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

NIST Nobel laureate Bill Phillips talks to students about how to use laser light to make the world's best clocks. The lasers cool a gas of cesium to near absolute zero for ultra accurate measures of the atoms' vibrations or "ticks."
