Hello!

Although many of you already know what SPS is I know we have some new faces
in the department and I wanted to invite anyone and everyone to join SPS.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Keely Scott, I am the
President of our SPS Chapter and I am a junior physics and mathematics
major. The Society of Physics Students is a great organization at our
school where everyone who loves physics gets together to do all sorts of
things! As a chapter, we do lots of volunteering on campus at different
events in the department and with our university. We also just get together
to have fun game nights or hang out! Some examples: Bake sales, Liquid
Nitrogen Ice Cream Tailgate Booths, Physics Day with the Department, Dallas
STEM Expo, Girl Scouts Science Day, Game Nights, intramural sports teams,
and many more! (Pictures attached below)

When you join you will be able to meet many other people who love physics
just as much as you do! Joining SPS will give you many opportunities to
meet new people, get involved in the department, and so much more! *If you
are interested in joining please email me, so I can add you to the email
list! *(you do not need to be a physics major to join!)

Usually, our SPS Chapter would have been at an organization booth, but due
to the pandemic, we were unable to meet many of you at an organization
fair! Instead, I will be hosting an SPS questions party on Tuesday
afternoon (September 29th) if you want to get a better feel for what it's
all about. This will be hosted from 3 pm CT until about 5 pm CT. (if you
are interested email me and I can email the zoom link :)!)

*Our next meeting for SPS is on the 2nd of October next week! *(More
details in the flyer attached)

Have a lovely weekend friends! Cheers!
