Subject: Request assistance: McMurry University seeking Engineering Physics Professor and Professional Tutor

**External Email**
October 20, 2020
Greetings!
McMurry University has recently been awarded a Title V grant to allow our physics department to expand and introduce an Engineering Physics major. We will accompany the launch of the new major with a substantial student support component to improve outcomes for our students, particularly those who could benefit from a summer bridge program preparing them for college-level calculus and the first calculus-based physics coursework.
We are searching for individuals to join our team in two capacities: an engineering physics faculty member and a professional tutor.
McMurry University (McM) is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It serves a population of over 1000 undergraduate students. It is historically known for the strength of its science programs. During the last decade, the McMurry Physics Program has experienced substantial growth in several areas, including the number of students, the number of physics graduates, as well as the diversity of the student population. The majority of the recent graduates are pursuing careers in engineering or closely related fields.
If you have promising recent graduates or upcoming graduates who would be interested in joining our team, would you please consider making these opportunities known to them? We are seeking people who are passionate about the goals and work of Title V, encouraging the success of traditionally underrepresented students in this field, and who have a desire to collaborate with a like-minded team to build something that serves students and through them communities they touch.
Details for each position follow.
Sincerely,
Alicia T. Wyatt, Ed. D.
