Sorry for the late notice,

This afternoon (Tues Nov 12 at 4pm) there will be a special seminar for all of you in room 135. Physics 101 students are required to attend; all others who are free are encouraged to attend.

Mental health is often not discussed among science students, but it is a very common concern in physics and astronomy programs throughout the country (and the world). Common issues include anxiety, depression, feelings of inadequacy (“Imposter Syndrome”), and more.

Today we’ll learn a little bit about some of these issues, how to recognize symptoms, and resources available. It’s not possible to completely cover all issues in one hour, but consider this an introduction to what should be an ongoing conversation among us all.

The discussion will be led by staff from the Campus Counseling Center.
