Hello everyone,

On Monday (Oct 29), Monday Nov 5, and Tues Nov 6 we will be visited by candidates for a new faculty position. I’d like you to have the chance to meet each candidate, and we also have a chance for a couple of you to go to dinner with each candidate.

Monday we will be visited by Dr. Matt Caplan, who works on neutron star crusts like Dr. Newton. Dates/times for you to try and come if at all possible (I realize there is overlap with some classes)

4:10-5:10 - Special Colloquium, Room 123
5:15-5:45 - Meeting with graduate and undergraduate students, room 123

Lunch is 12-1

If you want to come to lunch, the department can pay for one undergrad and one grad student to go. Please let Cristo know if you are interested, and he’ll tell me which two students win the free lunch lottery.

Kurtis
