<b><span style="font-size:12pt; font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Nomination Process:</span></b><span style="font-size:12pt; font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><br>
Senators from each department will submit to the Faculty Awards Committee a ballot listing<span class="x_Apple-converted-space"> </span><b>one</b><span class="x_Apple-converted-space"> </span>nominee for each award. A copy of the ballot is attached to this
email for reference. Faculty members may self-nominate by notifying their department’s Senator. Faculty can also nominate a colleague in their department by notifying the Senator. If a Senator receives nominations for more than one individual for a particular
award, the department should reach a consensus on which faculty member’s nomination will move forward. The Senate encourages all faculty members within a department to discuss and agree on who should be nominated for a particular award.</span></p>

The chair of the Faculty Awards Committee, Dr. Hongmei Jia, will contact the nominated faculty members. This contact will occur by<span class="x_Apple-converted-space"> </span><b><span style="background:yellow">December 2, 2024</span></b><span style="background:yellow">.</span><span class="x_Apple-converted-space"> </span>If
any faculty member nominated for an award has not been contacted by this deadline, they should reach out to Dr. Jia to ensure the nomination was received.</span></p>

Barrus Award, which can have up to three recipients). These recommendations will be presented to the full Faculty Senate for approval at the March Senate meeting, scheduled for<span class="x_Apple-converted-space"> </span><b>March 4, 2025</b>.</span></p>
