[phas-faculty_staff_others] New laptops in rooms 147 and 109

Hello everyone,

The student laptops in rooms 147 and 109 have been replenished (with the exception of four more that will be coming).

Please note the following rules regarding their use:

  *   Laptops with a blue and gold lion head sticker belong to room 147; laptops without a sticker belong in room 109.  If you notice stickers coming off, inform Dr. Davis or I.
  *   Laptops in room 147 are for classroom use in rooms 135 and 146 only.  Integrated Science and University Physics courses have priority in their use.
  *   Laptops in room 109 are for use in labs in rooms 107 and 114 only.
  *   We almost always have simultaneous courses, so make sure to coordinate with other instructors to ensure each class has the laptops they need.
  *   After usage, immediately return the laptops to the appropriate cart.  Make sure they are plugged in to power and ethernet.  If you are in a hurry, return them and plug them in anyway.
  *   Undergraduates should not be tasked with retrieving or returning laptops.
  *   When removing laptops for use, be careful to unplug both power and ethernet without causing tension, compression, torsion, or shear to cords or ports.  This most often happens when laptops are yanked out of slots.
  *   When returning laptops, also take care not to cause tension, compression, torsion, or shear to cords or ports.  This often happens when laptops are pushed in to slots.
  *   Laptops are not for personal use and should not be used outside of the above-mentioned classrooms.  All university laptops have geolocation software and hardware.
  *   If a laptop is not working properly, record the asset tag (the 751- number) and the issue, and please put a sticky note on the laptop cover so others do not use it.
