The dean has asked that we all announce and encourage students to attend the following career-related events in all of our classes, especially those catering to our majors:

College of Science & Engineering Career Fair
Date: Wednesday, September 17, 2025
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: Rayburn Student Center – Conference Rooms
In addition, we are planning the following events to support student preparation for the fair:

  1.  My 1st Career Fair Prep Party
Date: Wednesday, September 3, 2025
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Velma K. Waters Library, 2nd Floor
  2.  Navigating a Career Fair (Come-and-Go Session)
Date: Thursday, September 11, 2025
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Location: AG/ET Lobby** (Need to confirm with JoAnn)

Good morning, Dean Graham,
I hope this message finds you well.
Our office is currently in the early stages of planning our fall calendar of events, and one of our key initiatives is the annual College of Science & Engineering Career Fair. We are proposing to host the event on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Rayburn Student Center (RSC).
As we begin organizing, I would greatly value your insight and support. Specifically, I’d appreciate your feedback on the following:

  1.  Do you foresee any potential scheduling conflicts with the proposed date?
  2.  Would you consider encouraging or requiring student attendance?
  3.  Would you be open to allowing class time for our team to visit and share career preparation resources with students?
  4.  Could you encourage faculty to have students schedule a “Resume Class Assignment” appointment through Navigate?
  5.  Would you be willing to share this opportunity with faculty members who may also wish to participate?
  6.  We are also planning a “Navigating a Career Fair” prep session for College of Business students on Monday, September 15th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Engineering building. Would you be in support of this date, or would you recommend an alternative?
To support event promotion and logistics:

  *   I will also be collaborating with Dr. Laura Isbell to help with employer recruitment for the fair.
  *   I will work with our Graduate Assistant to develop a mutual agreed upon flyer for marketing.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas that could help enhance the event, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We truly look forward to collaborating with you to create a meaningful and impactful experience for our business students.
