Subject: The Department of Physics & Astronomy excels again in 2022-23 AIP physics reporting data

Hello everyone,

The annual American Institute of Physics annual statistics on U.S. physics departments has been released (https://ww2.aip.org/statistics/roster-of-physics-department-with-enrollment-and-degree-data-2023), and ETAMU / A&M-Commerce has again ranked very well.

Just a few highlights:

  *   Of 186 reporting departments, we tied with Brown for first in exiting physics master's degrees overall, and we are the top producer of exiting physics master's degrees for departments not granting a PhD (28).
  *   Of 465 reporting departments, we ranked 32 in number of Introductory integrated science and astronomy course enrollments (784; median 59)
  *   Of 640 reporting departments, we tied for 256 for number of physics bachelor's degrees awarded (8; median 6)
  *   Of 618 reporting departments, we ranked 334 in number of enrollments in first term introductory physics classes (257; median 252)

These are all reasons to be proud of the work we have done and continue to do in the department!  Thank you all for your hard work on our behalf.
