[phas-faculty_staff_others] Prepare for online classes Tuesday and Wednesday

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all staying warm and safe this weekend!

Due to the chance of ice over the next couple days and the fact that temps will not climb above freezing until Wednesday, there is a chance that the university may be closed Tuesday and/or Wednesday. (NO CLOSURE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED YET)

The University has new a bad weather procedure that classes should move online in case of bad weather closure.  Since we have a couple of days to prepare, please take time to be ready for online classes Tuesday and Wednesday just in case.

Remember that online means the class should be asynchronous - a zoom meeting at the time of class is not allowed. Also, since some students may not have internet access in icy weather, please also take that into consideration when setting due dates. 

As instructor of the class, you have final say as to what activities to do.  However, canceling class is frowned upon. 

Stay safe, and thanks in advance for your time and efforts to be prepared, no matter what you think about the new policy.
