FYI, the grad school has adopted our updated LaTeX template for general use.  Unlike what Karin Thomas implies, I only updated an earlier work by Dr. Wood and previous students unknown.

Using this template does not guarantee that your thesis will agree with MS thesis formatting requirements, but it should get you close. I’d suggest using the template in Overleaf.

Good afternoon,

As some of you know, thesis students have struggled getting their LaTex generated documents into Graduate School formatting.  I would like to thank Dr. Kurtis Williams for putting the time and effort into producing a template that will come very close to meeting these formatting requirements.  However, Dr. Williams did provide the following caveat--the extra blank page at the end of the PDF has to be fixed by removing the extra page from the PDF in Adobe.

Dr. Williams also acknowledged that there may still be issues with getting spacing at the top of pages correct, adding that LaTeX is notorious for sometimes producing different spacing with the exact same code when compiled on different computers.  So please keep these limitations in mind.

Attached to this email you will find the LaTex template in a zip file and an example of a document produced using this template.  I have posted both of these on the TDS/Resources for Writing<https://inside.tamuc.edu/academics/graduateSchool/Thesis%20and%20Dissertation%20Services/ResourcesforWriting.aspx> web page under Graduate School Templates and Guides.

I hope your students are able to use the template without as many frustrations as we have had in the past.
