Thanks for the information.
Looking at the grantees, it appears that they are all 501(c)3 organizations. Do you know if this foundation requires a grantee to be 501(c)3 eligible? If that is the case, the university is not so we could not apply but the TAMUC Foundation can. If anyone is interested, contact them to see if they require 501(c)3 designation before you invest a lot of time creating your application. My office is ready to help as needed.
Sincerely,
Brent

Subject: WoodNext Foundation Opportunity
Here is an interesting funding opportunity. Deadline is very short. Maybe it is ideal for education grants. One needs to contact them directly by email to check if they would support, or just submit an unsolicited application directly to them by email. It is relatively simple.

WoodNext potential funding opportunities—please note deadline is 9/14,
WoodNext funded initiatives.
Potential ideas should be “half-baked” at least. Not something that is completely new and pulled out of the ethos.
Looking for X # of ideas at the following levels:
3-4 ideas $1M+
5-6 ideas in the $100K-250K range
6-10 ideas in the > $25K range
What we need and format:
Opportunity : a brief title/name for the opportunity/project
Funding amount: can be an estimated dollar amount or range
Brief description: a few bullets or short (2-3) sentence statementdescribing the opportunity
Faculty member name(s) and title(s)
College/unit name
DO name to contact for info
Deadline to get all of this to me is Thursday, September 14th.
After the foundation reviews the menu, they will let us know which ideas they would like further information on. They plan to fund the ideas early December.
*Here’s an example of how we will format this
