Abstract: In one of the University Lecture Series, Peter D. Lax and Lawrance Zaleman pointed out that the three most effective problem-solving devices in mathematics are calculus, complex variables, and the Fourier transform. This presentation introduces complex variables and presents exciting applications in daily life, sciences, and mathematics.
