Engineering Physics Institute), and a Ph.D. degree (1999) in experimental nuclear physics at the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”. His Ph.D. research topic was on structure of exotic nuclei. He worked as a post-doc (2000-2003) and then as a Research
Assistant Professor (2003-2004) at the University of Notre Dame, where he continued focusing on structure and reactions with exotic nuclei. In 2004, Dr. Rogachev began his appointment as an assistant professor at Florida State University. In 2013 he moved
to Texas A&M University where he is currently doing research in structure of exotic nuclei, clustering phenomena, nuclear astrophysics, searches for physics beyond the standard model and security applications. More information about Dr. Rogachev and his research

<span style="font-size:11pt; font-family:Cambria; background-color:rgb(255,255,255); vertical-align:baseline; white-space:pre-wrap">The last two decades have seen remarkable progress toward describing structure of light atomic nuclei starting from nucleon-nucleon
interactions. Confronting new state-of-the-art theories with high quality experimental data has always been and remains crucial in our quest for a unified theory of atomic nuclei. We will review variety of topics related to contemporary physics of light nuclei.
We will start from structure of exotic, proton or neutron rich nuclei, and discuss how the new experimental data stack up against the most advanced theoretical predictions. Importance of clustering phenomena in light nuclei, which is a prominent feature of
many calculations and is supported by experimental data, and the role it plays in astrophysics will be discussed. Finally, we will review surprising opportunities for searches for physics beyond the standard model offered by light nuclei.
