DNA, also known as deoxyribonucleic acid, is a biological macromolecule that contains genetic instructions to guide the development of biological and life functions. The DNA’s main
function is information storage and can be compared to a "blueprint" or "recipe". Instructions that are required to construct other intracellular compounds such as proteins that are required for ribonucleic acid. A DNA fragment encoded by a protein is called
a gene. Most DNA molecules consist of two biopolymer strands coiled around each other to form a double helix. I will present the history, structure, function, and applications of DNA.
